While in Theory such application would help ALL DRIVERS, the reality is that ALL Consumer Goods would simply INCREASE IN PRICE (like they have been doing because transportation costs keep rising) thereby nullifying the "raise/increase in pay".
NO Freight Handling Company would easily absorb such added pay for Trucking/Delivery Drivers since the fumbling feral buffoons would not endorse such adventure (they just support the initiation/implementation of such "requirement" yet NOT the financial side unless such activities benefit the fumbling feral buffoonery) AND
the Drivers who believe such would happen are the ones that know not a manual transmission from a universal joint.
Think there's a "driver shortage" now?
I hope you understand a decrease in Driver hiring IF/WHEN such insane practice is implemented.
Some Companies may well just FOLD UP (hopefully not like Jevic or Arrow, to name but 2).
Think companies are going to absorb the increased reduction in their profits?
- -Companies will simply raise their rates to haul products (and BROKErs will continue to pay LESS) which, as stated at top of page, WILL AFFECT Consumer Prices therein "nullifying the increase in Driver Pay".

It's as clear as the bug smear on your windscreen and the fodder on yer mudflaps.
Mileage Pay would be REDUCED to compensate for the "hourly wage" so it's still a lose/lose proposition.
