OK, I'm lazy tonight.

I teach OTR rules to my classes ( part time ) and I work ( full time ) with local drivers ( within 150 miles ). We do ( at work ) have a few special runs that may or may not require logging. At my full time job we have a safety Dept. that says what has to be logged and how. Some of them I think are wrong......some of them I KNOW are wrong. Please enlighten me.

1) Local driver ( no logging required ) works 2 days local and then runs a run OUTSIDE the 150 mile area but will be back in the same day. Does he have to "back log" the past 7 days?

2) Local driver stays within his 150 miles BUT does cross the state line. Does he have to log?

3) Local driver reports to base "A" drives to point "B" 100 miles west for P/U. Load delivers to point "C" 80 miles east of point "A". ( Total of 180 miles from point "B" to point "C"). Can the local deliver from point "B" to point "C" without logging?

Thank God I'm not insane. I have been trying to beat this through the head of safety for two years now. I didn't really want to get into the reg. book and confuse myself for the sake of the guys that I teach OTR HOS rules to. It took until last year to convince the safety guy the the new rule was 150 miles not the old 100 miles.

I have NO DESIRE to take ANYTHING to "PM" with you. YOU let Ridge Runner believe he was right about everything he has been teaching, based on YOUR faulty understanding of the "short haull" regs.

YOU need to "revisit" this thread and clear this up with Ridge, who now thinks he's NOT insane, based on YOUR agreement with his contention that he has spent 2 years arguing with his safety manager about.

UNLESS his "local" drivers are driving NON-CDL equipment.... they do NOT have an expanded 150 mile radius! YOU agreed to that on another thread, and now YOU need to make sure that Ridge is clear about YOUR mistake and HIS!

I don't "need" to do anything of the sort. If it's that big of a deal to you, then you do it. He asked some questions, and I gave him correct answers to those questions.

Crystal. Now show me where I ever mentioned anything about 150 miles to Ridge (his words, not mine - and your assumptions) and show me how it would change any of the answers I gave him. Otherwise, quit whining like a little baby and find something else to do with your time other than following me around like a little dog trying to piss on my leg.

Yeah, I figured you'd mince words, duck and dodge, and find SOME way to avoid taking any responsibility for misleading ANYONE on this board! That is your modus operandi.

It should be clear to ALL now, that you are more concerned with protecting your "image" than helping members stay out of trouble. :roll:

I'm not "following you around" anywhere.... but, if I did, it wouldn't be to pizz on your leg! With the waning interest I still have for this board, I occaisionally look for interesting threads where people have questions. I can't help it that YOU usually get there first.... and give incorrect, misleading or incomplete information! :hellno:

BTW, you edited.... when I said "somebody" needed to revisit this thread.... what made you think I meant YOU instead of Ridge?

[BTW.... check question #2 and YOUR answer. I think it might change when the correct reg is applied.]
