Totally NOOB question about FSC
As an o/o, who is going to pay you a FSC? As I understood it, what you get paid by the broker for the load is all you're going to get. No?
Speaking of fuel... I'm kind of getting the idea that every state I will fuel up in will send me a tax bill, but is that monthly, quarterly or annually? Anyone know of a site that has an up-to-date table showing each state's diesel tax rate? |
FSC is an amount of money you spend on fuel. As I worked with some brokers they state in the rate confirmation that the rate is for example $100 including FSC. That means you get only $100.
Once I hauled hay, and the shipper stated the rate like $32 per mile + $0.25 FSC That means if you drive 100 miles you will get $ 320 + $25 = $345 total |

HOWEVER... what I have found is that there will be a mix of rates offered by different brokers. Some will pay you $x/mile + FSC. Others simply pay a flat fee for the load. |
about the states sending us a tax bill,I never got one,but i do my quarterly fuel taxes and I sometimes owe them money, and sometimes I get some money back.
keep up with your miles per state and fuel bought per state, file it every qtr. In NC,we have to go online and do it |
Sorry! I meant 10 miles))))
