Is anyone using a 3rd party dispatching service?

I would like to start an independent dispatching service, but if there’s no call for it I won’t.

My grandfather and father were both O/O’s, but both are no longer with us, so I can’t ask them.

I was a LTL company driver until my military service connected medical conditions stopped me from driving truck back in 1996.

I'm currently out of work, and would like to start my own business.

So I’m looking to the professionals for a thumbs up, or down, on the area of the use of 3rd party dispatchers.

I use a dispatching service. The reason I use it is he takes care of all the paperwork and factors the load as soon as it's delivered. If he gives you a load and he pays you and the shipper doesn't pay him he eats it, not you.

Unless you plan on doing something different from what thousands of other dispatching services are doing I think it would be a tough business to get going.
