Ive been loking at buying a Semi that has a Mercedes Engine. Does anyone own one ? Any pros or cons on this?

dont do it. run.

detroit was bout by mercedes, mmmm 10yrs ago. its just a detoit eng made by mercedes. there not big balled fuel eatting eng but they get the job done with less fuel. last for ever.

you dint say what year. pre egr.def? so dont know what firebird_1252 bases his reply on. mine is simple thay are good reliable eng,

should have went further.


when i was a company driver we had most MB motors in our freightliners. every last one of them blew the main line off the fuel rail. every one. while as a driver i'd take one over a volvo motor any day due to they have more pep. oh, also the fuel milage was blown away by the detroits. this was a mix of pre egr and egr. one thing i gotta say. a incredible amount of down low torque.. thats about it though. other then that 0 power. again.. my opinion.
