Took the Plunge & Filed for my Authority Today!

Not sure what to expect what all the people will be who will call me, guess I will be finding out soon. The company I used to work with as a Company Driver said they could put me to good steady work when I needed it, just got to get my authority and my Insurance.

Called and spoke to OOIDA about my Insurance Needs, will check around couple of other places as well.

Did you file for it yourself??

Papa Rick 02-17-2011 02:30 AM

No, I let OOIDA do it for $500.00 and if I go with them on the Insurance, they will take $200.00 off the price, so I thought it wasn't too bad of a price. I already had everything else done.

OOIDA did it for me too. The price was good and they are real nice people to deal with.

500$ i thought you could do it for free on the fmcsa website?
What do you get for 500$$

Papa Rick 02-18-2011 11:28 AM

Min cost is 300.00 that is what the Fed charges now to do it, and thought for 200.00 more just let OOIDA do it. If I go with their insurance, then they refund the 200.00 and it doesn't cost anymore than if I filed it.

Well, that just makes sense to do it that way then.

gcal 02-18-2011 10:19 PM

yea that does make sense.
