O.k. back to the truck for sale. are you sure you want to work at co mentioned? the prob you may have with that year is ,if things don't work out at that co, you may have limited places to lease onto with an older truck. I t sounds like you really want this truck & minimize any potential problems. I have been that way too. just love the looks, long hood, pete, I just got to have it. make sure it is a good bang for your buck. you say the brakes are new, just needs adjusting? that may mean slack adjusters are worn out, or the s brake cam's are wore. take your time deciding. there is always another great deal out there. don't fall in love with the looks of something. best of luck.

Trucks are a dime a dozen now a days. I know that a flat top is a big turn off for me. It's nice to be able to stand up to get dressed and to stretch and move around . :smokin:

but you also forget he will be at home each night and not sleeping in the truck, so the flat-top doesnt mean anyhting unless you are 8ft tall and need a KW with a sunroof to look out LOL

That's fine for now, But what happens when he changes companies and does have to sleep in the truck. He needs to think into the future and not just think about now. :smokin:
I have been running in a 36" flat-top the last year OTR and it's not bad, the extra room would be nice, but IMHO a flat-top looks a lot better than a stand-up sleeper anyday. But to each their own I guess |
I'm interested in everyone's comments, positive and negative. I'm reading them all and they are appreciated.
The bottom line with this truck is, yeah it's old, not an aero style, small sleeper, etc. It's a starter for me to get rolling in. If I get three years out of it, great. I'll have some valuable experience as an O/O, and some money in the bank. At that point I can look at something more updated. |
