First off, I would make sure the truck is a PRE-2007 emissions truck. You don't want anything to do with the DPF trucks, they are garbage and cost lots of money to fix and will be in the shop quite often. So anything made before 2007 (even some 2006 models have DPF too) would be a good route....

Freightliners are great trucks as long as you get a good ne (kinda like buying a watermellon LOL)

KW will hold it's value and cost the same to fix as any other truck

I would deff stay away from Volvo due to the pain it is to work on them. They seem to be good trucks, just from the mechanical side it is tough to work on and most shops charge extra to work on a Volvo (my old work charged $100hr for most trucks, $110hr for a Volvo)

IH is just garbage in my opinion. I have owned 2 and will never buy one again. Too many electrical problems and they have alot of squeeks and creeks

For running a tank, anything with a midroof or less is good. I'd go no less than a 435hp motor, 13spd (all transmissions are good, I just preffer a 13) and 3.73 gears due to the weight of the materials you haul......
