I'm Not Just Good - I'm Damn Good!

I don't know how many 1000's of miles (or 100's of gallons) the long term average MPG of my "new" Volvo 780 measures over, but when I got the truck it was averaging 6.0 MPG. In the 10,000 miles since I've had it, said average MPG has gone way up to 7.6! :smokin::smokin::smokin:

That's the difference between a COMPANY driver not paying for fuel, and a O/O who flips the bill. Amazing isn't it?

Now you have to convince IFTA you're not cheating.:)

Still the only way to truly measure is at the pumps, not onboard computers

If I've determined that my computer reads 1 1/2% high, then an indicated 10.0 MPG is really only 9.85 MPG.

I agree! The truck computers are notoriously inaccurate on most trucks. I reset my readout every weekend and measure for the week. Last two weeks the computer has shown 8.7 avg while the pump to pump calculations have come in in the mid to high 7's.
