Sounds like you're thinking about leasing to a company that will be sending you to these states on a semi-regular basis? If that's the case, I'm not sure I would want to be applying for single trip permits every time I go in there.

Are you sure you don't want to amend/revise your cab card to add those states? In that case, the only way that I know to get a price is to actually apply via fax to the IRP office in your area. This seems to be what they are telling you. You will need to estimate your mileage in each state and jump through a whole bunch of other hoops and then they will give you a print out with a price. If you don't like the number, you don't have to pay.

yes, it'll be kinda regional based out of Mephis TN 600-700 mile radius, they are offering to file the permits for me and bill me afterwards.. it's a logistic company with their own trailers, but i have to provide the insurance, whereis i have been with companies big enough to supply all that. currently between jobs.

Hmm. If I were you I would call the telephone numbers in the Rand McNAlly atlas and ask each of those states how much they charge for a trip permit and how long they are good for. I think they're only good for a day or so. That's a lot of permits.

Rather that getting trip permits however, I would be getting an IFTA plate if you don't already have one or adding those states to the one you do have.

it is cheaper to just go ahead and buy an irp tag for 48 states, actually it will have 49 on it, because of DC
single state permits on an as-needed basis will cost you a fortune. a 48 state tag will cost you around 1500 a year
