What laws & regulations would you change?
My recent post about Canadian lumping fees got me thinking: what **Canadian** laws & regulations would you change if you could? What would make your trucking business more efficient and/or environmentally friendly?

Where would one start?
- speed limiter legislation - spread axle rules in western canada - wheelbase rules all across canada Other than those 3 it's not too bad. |

Most provinces allow 244", it gets really complicated after that because each province has its own rules for 244"+ trucks. BC absolutely does not allow it except for tri-drives.

Log books: why can't they make the HOS rules universal for US and Canada? Everything else is okay :) |
I would've thought that there would be more complaining(!) What about APU's - I read somewhere that companies were unsure about investing in them because gov'ts (US?) haven't decided on emmissions regulations on them.
Personally, I'd like to see the gov't come down on idling - an activity that doesn't do anyone any good (and not just trucks either.) |
