How can you ignore something that shuts down your truck after 5 minutes of idling, no matter what?

Could try parking only with the trailer break if you feel comfortable doing so. I've heard in some trucks doing that confuses the system and it thinks you're sitting in traffic.

I remember the "good ol' days" of using a brick to keep the throttle off the idle switch.

How about if you just bump the idle up to say, 800 to 1000 RPM's with the cruise control?

The ISX that we had in our fleet had auto shutdown, but bumping up the cruise cancelled it out.

Sorry guys for not being active here.just got back after a phenomenal run to FL and back to AZ . Thank God i had the mentioned problem fixed.

Pretty much it was a thermostat(just like in a ac system in the house) that i had replaced at the dealer and was able to use it.If i set it at 70 degrees the engine starts itself and cools it down. It did cost me $750 but it was fixed. The damn cummings thermostat alone was 500 something.Talk about expensive parts in these Volvos.Great trucks but very very expensive on parts!!!:pissedoff::pissedoff::pissedoff::pissedof f:

I really don't like to idle at all,but when you have 100 degrees outside, you really want to keep cool a little but.Idle air is really not an option for me since, it seems a little expensive and dirty. All the nastry stories about it made me reconsider it.I don't know,it maybe just be me.:lol::lol::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
