Gman you are so right..........if these guys would stop hauling the freight at cheap rates we might be able to get the rates back up..........I refuse to run at these low rates, so I guess I will get a lot of fishing in this summer

I'm busy as all hell. My company doesn't have to compete with these bottom-feeders as much as others. I have over 7,000 miles for June already, and the first week(well actually 8.5 days) I did 5,000.

Hell I could go out there and run 7000 miles a week.....that means nothing unless its paying a good rate per mile........there are lots of loads out there.....that is not the problem........it is the pay per mile that I have a problem with........it is not how many miles you run per week but how much profit you obtain at the end of that week......it seems that a lot of guys can not grasp this concept:confused:

Back to fishing:thumbsup:

They're paying me about $1.50 for all miles. I'm sure they're charging the customer a lot more then that. The 5000 miles was in 8.5 days, 7000 for the first 2 weeks of June.

scooter777 06-18-2009 06:33 AM

That explains all the miles you have to run.

allan5oh 06-18-2009 11:46 AM

Have to? I could get by on 5000 miles a month. I'm putting close to $1.00 a mile into my pocket.

Are you riding a bicycle?

Rates here at landstar have increased........ESPECIALLY going into canada from the south....

Found out that one of the major paving companies in this area cut it's rates that it's paying for dump trucks (quad axle) from 74.00 per hour to 62.00 per hour.

Reportedly they still have no problem finding trucks to haul for them.:hellno:
