Type of accelerator pedal

Is it possible to change the accelerator pedal from a floor-mounted to a suspended one ? I find it much easier on the leg to operate a suspended pedal, and am also able to exert far greater control over it, than a floor-mounted one. Also, when spec'ing out a new truck, for eg a Kenworth / International / Freightliner, can one specify the type of pedal too ?

I have never heard of specifying a suspended accelerator pedal. I don't know if it is something you could order from the factory or not. I am sure a good mechanic could design one for you for the right price. If you use your cruise control it should not be much of a factor. You may try adjusting your seat to see if that might help the stress on your leg.

You could possibly alter the existing pedal. Maybe add some "thickness" on the upper portion so it "feels" like it is suspended.
