Do all Kenworths have such a small space between the seats?

The T2000 has more space between the seats since it has a wider body.

Didnt realize I was asleep, but thanks for the professional advise. No where in that post did I say I was buying that particular truck (or ANY truck for that matter), I just applied for financing... if (and only if) I got approved THEN would look at that truck or possibly another truck.

Which trade do you recommend? I have 3 years driving a truck, 20+ years off and on in construction/remodeling, several years warehouse experience, auto body training, computer experience, and a lot more. Which trade is the holy grail to prosperity? Which trade is immune to the current financial crisis? Which trade do you do and why is my quest for financing such a doomed decision?

A plumber or an electrician might be a good idea.

Or you could be a heavy equipment mechanic. 5 minutes ago I was quoted $85/hr + $.52/mile for a guy to drive from Scranton, PA to a rest area ~25 miles north and clamp a turbo boot back on. It would take you 2 weeks to make that amount of money with your own truck......if you're lucky.

Dont know about the plumbing business, but electrician is no good. A friend of mine went to school for that, he put out dozens of resumes 2 years after he graduated with zero results... hes now driving a forklift for $9 an hour.

BTW... if I got the truck I was going to stay where I'm at until it was paid for. MHC Kenworth financing turned me down... said I wasnt in the trucking business long enough. Here I always though 3 years would be plenty... go figure. Thought about going to my bank but I figure I'll just sit tight and see where the economy is going.

The salesman said a couple guys from California came and got them. He said he had another T600 about the same year that just came in, but the price was in the 30,000's and I didnt want to go that high.

Well, in this industry, 3 years?? I would say that you should have gotten it, but the banks won't.

I guess that's because people jump in and buy that truck, then can't manage their business good enough just to break even. You hear about first time buyers biting off more than they can chew....

On the other side, with the banks failing all around us, they have a tighter grip on their money so they don't go under as well. It's kinda wierd, i know, because lending out the money is their business. But they too want to be safe about it.

Isn't their some kind of help for truckers wanting a loan for a rig? Like a small business loan? or something? Something that the govt. will back up the loan for truckers to get a new or used rig to start out with?

Word on the street is that for zero down, they'll doll you right up with a big ole rooster cruiser and have you hauling down the big bucks in no time!

I didnt think $22,000 was biting too much... especially since my house is paid for and the only bill I have is a $366 a month pickup payment. Who knows... maybe they thought I was trying to finance a new truck.

The salesman called today and said he got me approved for zero down financing through a local bank, but I'm gonna hold off for now.

tell them you want to transfer the zero dn financing to another driver. I am sure some one on this board will take the offer.
