So before you guys talk about Charged not knowing what he is doing know his operating cost and remember you guys were in his shoes at one time and did you get bashed for asking questions that any new owner operator would ask?
I knew exactly what my operating costs would be before I ever even looked at a truck, so no - I was never "in his shoes".

I didn't follow this entire thread page by page but as long as he is coming out ahead why do you and Big Diesel got to jump his case and act like he doesn't know what he is doing? Besides what is wrong with asking questions every now and then? Did you two jump on Steve when he first started out?

Based off the fact that he makes more than $1.30/mi.

Since when did I say I knew everything about trucking? I don't live in a BBR fantasy world! I'm far from a little boy for your information and you don't know what I know about trucking! Please stop assuming I don't know something that you have no knowledge of what I know and don't know.

Jump on me isn't even close. They both tried to hump me in the butt at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They do that to everyone. It makes them feel superior thinking they are some shrewd business men. Come on guys, your freaking truck drivers. Your not even in the same class as a Quickie Mart store owner.

It pisses lots of people off when someone new comes in with no experience and just starts doing it. It's easy and you don't have to be a rocket scientist. Everyone has different bills and either you make enough to pay them and live at $1.30 per mile or need $2.30 per mile.

I can guess about at least one person on here who has the following bills which I don't. I'm guessing on the figures.

Truck Payment $300
Family health insurance $100 more then mine
Child support $250

Now that right there is $650 more PER WEEK then I have to pay

What makes some people unhappy about a new person is their situation is much easier then theirs. Well yes, it sucks to be you but that's not my problem!

Nope, completely wrong on all counts, Steve.

Hmmmmm...... When someone comes one here with fantasyland numbers on running a business, you bet your sweet azz I will point it out and attempt to show them the error of their ways as will the Rev.

But many are former/current company drivers who do not have one iota of basic business skills. Its not their fault, but if they are willing to take the time and effort to listen and learn from others who have been down the road and have already made the mistakes, they will be so much more ahead of the curve.

But.... we have those here who believe that they know everything and only want to hear what they want to hear. An excellent example is the GMAN trying to help Mr. Booth debacle.......

Mr. Booth, for those who do not know or remember was fortunate enough to pay cash for his equipment and year worth of insurance starting out. He states that he has no personal bills of significance, while many who are starting out have families to support and do not have the fair amount of cash on hand as Mr. Booth did. That is a great advantage.

Those that have an open mind, who are willing to listen and learn, and willing to help themselves first will find a vast amount knowledge available for the asking. Those that don't want to listen, or want others to do the work for them, I hope those individuals fail and lose everything.

One more thing...... Mr. Booth.... your YTD paystub showing your 104k is
not that impressive..... I had an average of 10 to 12 car salesman who made more than that when I ran dealerships as General Manager. I won't get into what I was paid with you, but it is safe to say that it was a wee bit higher.......

Why do you got to talk bad about GMAN? I got more respect for GMAN than I do for you! GMAN gives it straight forward but he isn't a jackass or bashes people like you do!
