Driver Qualification File

Is there anything other than JJ Keller for a Driver qualification file? I was searching yesterday for an alternative but no luck. I thought OOIDA had something on their site but I couldn't find anything. Any help would be much appreciated. 8)

You can get them from OOIDA, JJ Keller or similar supplier, or even possibly from your state. My state requires a 2 hr class to get your own authority and at that seminar they had available: log books, DQ files, FMCSA handbooks, etc. Reasonably priced, too.

This is what I use and it is BigDiesel proof..... So if BigDiesel can use it easily, it is a piece of cake for anyone else....

This is a all in one packet.

Thanks BD. I saved about 15 bucks over JJ Keller.
I got an accident report kit w/camera, 3 log books, driver qualification file, and a vehicle maintenance file (didn't really need this form but I liked the way it was laid out vs. what I was going to do so....WTH)

Just a side note for ya, in the description for the Driver Qual Form it did indeed say it was Big Diesel Proof. Man you get around!

I believe you can print out all the necessary paperwork at the FMCSA website, driver qualification file paperwork included.

You're right you can. I never thought of that.
Here's the link for anyone that might need it in the future.

RostyC...is this something you need to set even for yourself? Would the scenario be that you've set up a separate corporation and are hiring yourself as the driver?

No I'm not incorporating yet, I'd like to because I'm more familiar with it from my construction business but it'll have to wait. After I make my first million and add on 25 more trucks I'll incorporate.

Even if you drive your own truck you have to have a driver qualification file.

Has anyone ever been asked to show this the the DOT or is this one of those laws that are on the books and rarely gets checked?

Perhaps they look at it when you get your audit. Maybe someone can give more details.
