A few pics
The first picture is from Beal AFB. The plane was right over my head but I zoomed out by mistake instead of zooming in.
The other pictures are me heading over into Durango CO. Some of the corners were so sharp I had to look out my drivers and passenger side windows to see. Some corners I had to wait for a car to pass so I could go into the other lane or my trailer tires would have gone over the edge. http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...h/Dsc00829.jpg http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...h/Dsc00840.jpg http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...h/Dsc00832.jpg http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...h/Dsc00834.jpg http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...h/Dsc00835.jpg |
Steve, I have decided you need a hood ornament.

I've been on that road before. Lots of fun, but beautiful scenery.

Nice Pictures Steve
Thanks Mike |
I think I like the second one although I'm not sure what to pull on.

Fantastic pictures! Thanks for posting them :D

Wicked looking road, as far as what to pull on, pull on.........oh never mind

Why in the world did you choose to go over the muntain through Ouray and Silverton??
It looks just like it did in 83...except they put in the slide shed. I like the first ornament better...gives you a clear field of vision..and less of a distraction...get a real girl to ride jump-seat !! |
If you look on the map going from Grand Junction,CO to Durango, CO you don't have much of a choice.
That one picture of the curvy part is NOTHING. I was too scared to reach for my camera on the really bad stuff and I would have liked to video tape it. I mean, trucks should NOT be allowed on this road. There are no barriers and it's like a 2,000 foot drop to your death. I was loaded real light going to pick up another LTL load. I've started doing that more and more and in fact doing yet another one right now heading back to Vermont. Good money in it for sure and if I stopped picking up stuff right now I would end up at around $2.25 per mile for the whole trip including dead head to home. I'm going to do more and should end up from Salt Lake to Vermont to home around $3.50 per mile. Oh, and by the way. I met Pepe in Salt Lake when he knocked on my door. |
