I've been on Get Loaded.com this last few days......Looks like there is $2.00/Mile freight everywhere, Maybe the bleeding has stopped.

keep things in perspective
at 4 dollars a gallon
2 dollars a mile is not big money

...point/key bounce????????????

Sonny Pruitt 03-21-2008 06:24 PM

although
there are 441 loads listed for 3/21 within 50 miles of Fort Wayne,In
there are 1010 loads listed for 3/21 within 100 miles of Ft Wayne

we have been loaded and running every day, non stop, (flatbed)

so far we have had very little wait time, (maybe an hour) and that is usually spent in travel time to get the next load.

I have not seen too many loads like sheetrock or lumber rnning down the road lately, so perhaps a slow down there.

but we more than been making up for it with other accounts.

So i am going to repot, for us anyway, its moving along great. but we only a 3 truck company.

My stats show freight picked up starting this month. Thats for a company driver.

What price does an OwnerOp need to get for freight to show an expected profit at $4.00 a gallon?

I'm doing just fine, but I am leased with SNI. I have noticed that many more flatbed companies are out and about, and the "reefer" craze has seemed to slow down??? Probably because once everyone pulling flats went to reefers and now they are over-loaded and the flats/heavy haul are back to operating standards??
