I know I should ask oodia this question.
But I just singedup And I probably wont get an answer untill membership comes trough.

Can anyone tellme if I need a permit to enter KY ,or TX ,other than my DOT and MC numbers?

I read about people tryng to get TX, dot or KY permits.

I'm from CO, and cant find anything worth houling, so I need to head east for a couple of weeks so I can make a little money.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think there is another permit for TX.

There is for NM too

Kentucky requires you have a KYU number. Texas only requires a TX DOT number if you haul intrastate or within the state. That means that you must pick up and deliver the same load within the state of Texas. There are a few other states who require a permit or state authority if you pick up and deliver within the same state. New Mexico also requires a permit which costs $2/year per truck. New York has a HUT permit. I don't remember the cost. Oregon requires that you either get a permit for each trip or pay a $2,000 cash bond to run in their state. The cost is $0.13/mile plus $9 for each trip permit. The trip permit is good for 10 days. I believe those are the only ones who require additional permits. As long as you have the states on your cab card you should be good to go.

Here are the states that require more than IRP and IFTA as far as permits go:

N.Y. Must pay HUT based on mileage
N.J. Must pay $500 Annual Corp. tax unless Sole proprietor
KY. Separate mileage tax, state DOT# required on truck
AR. Prop. Tax based on assesed value of Equip. and mileage run in state
KS. Same as AR.
N.M. Weight-mileage tax- Cab Card no longer required, can buy annual permit at N.M. website
CO. Declare # of power units registered, Last 8 of VIN# required on side of truck.
OR. Does not collect fuel tax at pump- Must buy trip permit before entering state, or post bond for annual permit.

I'm sure that others will pipe in if they find something wrong with this...
