In my opinion, all recaps are good for is tearing stuff up.
I agree with Jackrabbit. Having had mine tear the crap out of my trailer, ripping mudflaps off, ripping wiring out, costing me days off the road to fix the damage; worrying if I could limp in after having them blow... well....

I won't run them anymore. If I DID run them, it would be ONLY on the front axle of my spread axle flatbed. On my last trailer, the force of the blowout on the front axle broke 3 crossmembers on the frame and bent the decking up.

Nope. No more recaps for me. I am sure they have their place. Just not on my truck ... :)

According to "michelin fuel savings calculator" recaps are NOT worth it.

The extra rolling resistance more then makes up for the couple hundred bucks you save capping tires.

Allen you've go me sold on the Michellin, I know there are a lot of tire discount programs out there, from OOIDA etc which one do you use?
