HA HA HA HA HA HA, that Youtube video was wicked funny. The person laughing in the background was even funnier!

I was told a long time ago to have 2 drinks a night which I do. In fact, the news just announced a new study saying the same thing. Only 1 drink for the ladies though.

We finish installing the trailer box tonight starting around 7 so a long nap will be in order this afternoon.

I still have a list of things to do to my truck but nothing that would prevent me from heading out the door in a second if push came to shove. I bought some really nice fog lights that I plan to install on the underside of my bumper. I have a switch inside the cab already so I'm assuming there are electrical connections hanging around somewhere underneath. Time for the old volt meter.

I need to change the oil and filter on the Rigmaster and tighten the belts. It has 1,000 hours on it now.

Speaking of which, I had your nightmare trip yesterday.

Left the Belleville area with a 53' step at 08:30. Radio said a nearby bridge was closed because the wind blew a truck over again.

Arrived at the border and the Alex Bay bridge was recording sustained winds of 30 mph with gusts to 70 mph so you needed to be 60,000 or heavier to cross. The wind blew a truck over a couple weeks ago so they're a little skittish these days. I was 80,100 so the let me go. When I was on top of the bridge it felt as though someone was pumping up my air seat..... I could feel myself being lifted. For a second I wondered how far down it was to the water.

Then there was I81 at the eastern edge of lake Ontario. Blinding snow and all sorts of trucks tipped over. I only counted 3 over turned trucks this trip though.

1:00 I stopped at a Walmart to update my truck postings with their internet signal. Also bought a coffee maker and a microwave. Figured I was going to need them tonight.

Arrived at the Flying J in Gibson, PA at 3:30 but the guy I was supposed to switch trailers with hadn't arrived from New Jersey yet so I replace a blown headlight but it didn't work. Must be in the wiring. Finally, at 5:00 he shows up with the 125" tall milling machine on a 53' double drop and we switch. Originally I had planned to stop by the house on the way to deliver the mill but him being late put me behind schedule so now there was no time. Besides, the wind restrictions were still in effect and I was only 45,000 gross so I wouldn't get across. Thus, 7:00pm I headed it toward Buffalo for my 10:30 delivery in Kitchener, ON. I 90 was closed from Rochester to Buffalo due to visibility but into the breach we go.

Arrived at I90 in Pembroke, NY at 10:30 IIRC and they had only just reopened the highway. It was quite something to see all the trucks parked at the Flying Hook. They were parked every which way and tons of guys were blocked in. Some guys on the radio had a plan; the guy who was parked on the scale was going to leave and that would create a lane so they were all all going to drive over the scale to get out. Not sure how they faired but one driver predicted it would be spring before they got out of there.

At the stroke of midnight I hit the first ON scale house and the lights are flashing. I roll across with one headlight and 14 hours of on duty time on my log book. I thought for sure I would get an opportunity to explain how I was not only legal on hours, but I had in fact 2 more hours of driving available. But a green light means go so I go. :)

02:00 I pull the buttons at the consignee. And they have wireless internet. :)

Sounds like fun to me Rank, I love all that bad weather stuff except for your schedule which would have put me over the edge pretty quick and heading into DE. Sounds like your becoming a full time OTR driver with the coffee machine and microwave.

I got my other box finished last night other than needing to be drilled and bolted down but that will be pretty easy. So much for my estimate of just an hour to weld on the brackets. Took about 7 hours total so I was a little off. He also had me unhook my trailer. He said there have been cases where a DC voltage has run into the tractor and done damage to electronic components.

My random drug testing company has been pulling my name more and more lately and they just notified me to go for another test. That makes 3 in less than a years time. Each time I go in I have to send them a check. I think enough is enough and I'm going to fire them. This doesn't sound random to me anymore but instead a way to increase profits for them. Also, I have 3 months to get it done?!?!?!?!? This doesn't sound right.

Steve, that's not unusual. I've been using CMCI for years now. They need to recieve the results of your test sometime within the current calender quarter. It's a huge loophole for druggie independents...

1. What's so weird about a DC welder? I don't think you can weld with AC.

2. I think it's implicit in Steve's post that he would replace his current drug testing company, not go without one.

V's post so reek with petty jealousy that I can smell it in California.
