You should do that now. SteveBooth is A LOT smarter than I am when it comes to computers. The old one would not power up after the fall. I took out the hard drive/disk?? device and going to see if someone can recover the data on it. |
Ok...I just did that to my computer and a wisp of smoke, the smell of ozone, then blackness.
....wellll since I'm posting this y'all know that 's a crock :D So for us non-IT sort of guys, just what happens when you hit "format C"? |
It wipes out your disk in preparation to install a new operating system. I'm pretty sure you can't do that command anymore.

You still in Albuquerque Steve?

Yup, there was like 9 loads leaving this morning all for $1.00 per mile. I'll wait and see what happens tomorrow and if nothing I'll head out for a better area over the weekend or at least get myself closer. I'm thinking Rock Springs, WY....lol
I've been watching South Park episodes all day, eating at the casino buffet and taking naps. |

My laptop died last summer. Went to Best Buy and bought this hard drive enclosure called "RocketFish" that plugs into my new computer via a usb cord. I was able to recover all of my files and can also use the old hard drive as an external drive now. Cost about $50, if I recall. |
Hollywood Casino outside Albuquerque NM on 25.
That USB disk thingie will do the trick. I have sort of the same thing for all my old disk drives from my big PC's. |
