OOIDA Call to Action - New Mexico Members December 3 , 2007 Attention Rio Rancho truckers!! The City Council is proposing an ordinance that could have an effect on you and your livelihood!! The ordinance would establish parking restrictions for commercial vehicles on residentially zoned property. To put it simply, they want to prohibit you from parking YOUR truck at YOUR home. Their idea of a suitable compromise is to ALLOW you to put a garage on YOUR property large enough to house your rig (provided it meets city code, of course) at your expense!! OOIDA member Jean Montoya is spearheading an effort to oppose this ordinance and she needs your support. Please call and write your council member to let him/her know you oppose this ordinance! If at all possible, please plan to attend the next city council meeting which will be held December 12th at 6:00 p.m. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Jean at 505-994-2872. They won't even let us build a garage large enough in the suburb of Chicago I'm in.
honestly madpuppy, most places will not even allow semis to DRIVE down residential streets, never mind park on residences or allow you to build a shop to store said semi.
I do it all the time, Allan  Of course, we're not talking about the same thing lol.
I agree, I've gotten hassled a few times from police moving people, even though its mostly senior citizen neighbors who think they own the block :D :D |
parking
I was just passing on info. that some driver O/O may need !
I'm all for it if they'll pass the legislation. I see no problem with it, especially in rural/less populated areas. The best solution would be a piece of county property on the edge of town and throw some gravel down. That would be a win-win. I get tickets with my bobtail in front of my house for 5 min with the flashers on, so I'm just bitter :)

Hmmm sounds like just a typical day in So Cal...I gotta drawer full of parking tickets ;p
We;re getting too many damn yankees down here in New Mexico. It's a great place to live as long as they'll leave us the hell alone. How dare some bastard try to tell me I can't try to park my truck on my property. OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!!
