So I did a load of....
CHRISTMAS TREES! YAY!
700 of them! Oh joy! Helped loading and unloading. Told my company I wanted to be paid extra. If they don't, I will tell them that in the future if freight is not on a pallet, it doesn't go in my trailer. 1100 miles in 4 days sucks. |

Thats usually part of hauling lose X-mas trees and the shipper usually explains this before they even load you. |
What's even better is my company called my cell at about 11 am.
"are you loaded yet?" "what the hell are you talking about?" "start heading towards mcdowell, I'll send you a load offer so you can call the customer" not even 15 minutes before I get to mcdowell, I get a message that says "call shipper before leaving saskatoon" wtf? Got to the customer "did you get lost? you were supposed to be here at 8:30" Bastards had it all planned. Usually they're really good at paying out these kinds of things. If I'm not satisfied, I'll just start doing 3000 miles a month till they get the point. |
I used to haul trees from eastern Canada back in 2002. They would come out of a farm in Fredericton,NB(did I spell that right?) . They always had a large crew doing all the loading. If they delivered to another farm than they would usually have an unloading crew too. If they delivered to Home Depots than that was another story. Let me guess, was the shipper Happy holidays,Inc.?

no he was way up in saskabush.
He had about 7 guys helping. I don't think I really needed to help. But I felt bad because I was about 6 hours late and they were standing around all day. |
