well, someone can correct me if i am wrong.....but your exp in Europe means nothing here....You need 2 years OTR exp for ins as far as I know. I know you can get ins. but you will only be able to go in a 500 mile radius of home.

That's not entirely true Tootie, my next door neighbor and close friend was a construction worker. Got his license with another friend (no school) went and bought a truck and got his own authority and he runs over the road.

I know you can get insurance but I think they require 1 year on the license. I only had 6 mos. otr and only a year on my license and have my own authority for all 48 states (though they prefer you just running East of the Mississippi) Maybe they will consider your European experience. They write insurance in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. More states too I think. I will PM you the number.

Try westerrn truck Ins.

http://truckinsure.com/

Dont know tho if they are licensed to do buiz in your state.

They will probably include your whole time having a CDL.

Hmmm just saw you are in Florida...can you use a SC address?

Funny the Co that they actually insured me with is in Florida.

I know of 2 people who went right out. And how can you guys (Tootie) be giving this advice? Steve here is an example of that it can be done.

P.M. Steve Boothe and he may be able to steer you towards insurance. You can also make a hundred calls until you find someone who steers you to the place where it can be done.

Exactly person...its can be done...the only obstical I had was no recent experience, and it was easy to overcome...since many Ins. companies go on the whole time you have a CDL and not just Dac verification
