Yep...the good ol days (born in '57). The only problem is what lies in between now and the good 'ol days....and that's the '70's 8)
Boy were they fun.... |
Grandmas was were I went to decompress. By the time I was growing up all the crap was hitting the schools were the goverment was taking over and they stopped teaching and had to follow what the goverment said had to be taught. For me the fun was being 15 staying at my grandmas and her going take my car and go get us some milk. Now remember this I did not have a license and she lived in teh country and the closest store was 10 miles away was a FUN trip.
For when hings got bad was when the richest kid in school got the police cheif daughter Pregnant in school we think it happened in the band room during a power failure one day and that was a heck of a week when that broke. |
When we would get in trouble - my Mom would say "Go get me a switch." We'd go outside and hunt for the scrawniest switch we could find. Only trouble was if the switch broke before she was done whipping us, she'd send us out for another one.
Nothing like the stress build up in picking a weapon to get your a--wooped! I guess I had pretty good kids - only had to spank them a few times. My son was the worst offender when he went through his fire bug stage. Stick matches were his worst enemy. Thought we were going to have to take him to a shrink until the last time when I found myself saying - "Go get me a switch." That broke him. |
This blog has been around awhile but is still pretty funny. Ahhhh for the good old 70's.
