Truck driver, cab driver...No difference
I remember talking to a cab driver in Ohio a few months ago and was thinking about it last night what he said and he's basically correct. There is no difference between him and I.
This is pretty much nothing more that a taxi service. Just multiply anything that has to do with money by 10 when dealing with trucking but it's all relative in the end. A cab driver can drive someone else's car. They can own there own car or be leased onto a cab company who dispatches them. A cab diver can have there own car and limo license and be totally on there own. A cab driver charges a premium for dead heading to pick up a fare. A cab driver charges for detention time. The meter runs while you run into Starbucks. A cab driver charges a premium for driving to a no freight area like dropping off a fare out in the middle of nowhere. A cab driver has to deal with gas prices and maintenance. A cab driver has special liability and cargo insurance also. A cab driver has a special license. (Hack) A cab driver also can rake in the money in LTL. Pick up 3 fares along the way!!! A cab driver always as a Hazmat license. Hauling those 50 year old adolescents back home when they are on the verge of puking from drinking too much. |
Your thinking too much again Steve go take a nap.

I tell ya. Even though I took a 4 hour nap, come 6pm, it was time for bed. I told my sister I'm staying in a hotel when I come down the end of this month or I'll be roaming the neighborhood and her house at 2am. |
