I called in this morning (Friday October 5th) to put myself back on the board and also to give my 2 weeks notice. To those that know me, will know this was coming for a while and why. For those of you that do not know me but follow my thread might be as shocked as Davis was when I told them.

First and foremost I want to say that my decision to leave is NOT because of Davis. In fact I think they are an excellent company and would recommend them to everyone and anyone. My reasons for leaving are many and all personal reasons which I will not post on here. As the old saying goes….”all good things must come to an end”.

Anyways, I was put in the “computer” to be routed through Missoula within the next 2 weeks to turn in the truck.

  Wow! Did they attempt to send you back East again?

I am surprised and I feel bad for both you and Davis! As I know at this point Davis did not break even with training you!

On the upside MORE miles for the drivers already there at Davis!

I really thought with all the research you did the past few years that you would have stayed with Davis longer than you did.

I really hope that your new gig works out for you and that you stay there longer. Will you have to go through training again?

BOL to you DD!

Excuse me???? I find that comment offensive as they made a decent amount of money off me as I ran more than 10,000 miles a month for 2 of the 3 months I have been here and I delivered every load one or even two days early!

I can't either
I ran pretty good for them. I ran just under 30,000 miles in 3 months and never screwed around. Always delivered a day early and the last 2 times two days early. A comment like that was uncalled for.

Thanks. i looked at Maverick a while back but unfortunately I am just outside thier hiring area. I see and chat with thier drivers alll the time and they all seem to be very happy, them and Melton drivers.

I am sorry I really did not mean that comment to be offensive or to imply that your work ethic was not very good.

I know you probably did pay for your own airline ticket to Davis which diverted some of the cost to Davis.

But Davis I believe did pay for the hotel cost, drug testing cost, checks and allot of other paper work involved. It was my understanding and maybe I am wrong that there is quite a bit of expense involved when taking on and training a new employee. I thought that you only got your first solo trip on August 8, 2007.

I mean if all these trucking companies could train people and take on new people and they would still make money off of them after six weeks of work. I do not see what the big deal is about people job hopping.

I am sorry that I offended you and maybe I am wrong about the cost of training someone in the trucking industry!
