Thanks GMAN. I guess every dog gets a bone once in a while right.....:p I wish the amount of freight and rates I was getting these past couple of weeks was like that ALL the time.

DD has be on a nice little HOT STREAK lately. I got home as planned and figured I would take time off until Monday, Nov. 23rd or possibly longer. Well Saturday the 21st I got a call from an agent asking if I would be interested in a load from Laredo, TX to L.A., CA. It was paying $3,000.00 & weighed aprox. 25k. It had to load that day at the LS yard in Laredo and was delivering to LAX on Monday. Needless to say I took the load.

Come Monday, I emptied out and headed to the beautiful TA in Ontario. Within an hour I had a military load booked for Tuesday at Ft. Irwin going to Ft. Drum, NY for a very nice rate.

NY is not all that great of a place to try and reload out of but low and behold there was a load in Watertown, NY heading back to Ft. Irwin that paid even better than the one coming into NY. In fact, it turned out to be 91 of these loads. They originated in Canada and since some, like myself, don't do Canada they shuttled our trailers across the border from Watertown.

I dropped the Canadian military load Saturday in Ft. Irwin and am now letting my log book reset at the TA in Barstow. I have a round trip from Long Beach, CA to TX back to Long Beach lined up for next week that is also paying pretty decent.

When it's all done and said I will have grossed right about 18k for 3 weeks worth of work, not too shabby especially when you consider the economy and time of year. This also gives me a nice financial cushion so to speak since I plan on parking the truck in the middle of Dec for the rest of the year.

Sorry brother I just now read your post. Although I read it a "day late and dollar short", I do thank you for the wishes and hope that you and your family had a great Thanksgiving.

With the first post,i would agree on points like true learning will comes in everyday driving.Enrolling in a driving school is a way of certification, learn the basic but i believe real professionalism comes when you have the real daily experience.
