You would be absolutely correct that a tanker endorsement is needed for a load such as that.

Holy giant pics, Batman! Resize! Resize!
But since you are obviously blown away with them, let me try to resize and re-post them, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to computers, so bear with me. |

I disagree with you Rev. All that tank is, was cargo. That is how DOT would view it. Legally DD could not have hauled product inside the tank. Now....if the tank was not properly purged, DD should have had placards on his trailer, and a haz-mat endorsement as well.:smokin: |

No one here ever said a tanker endorsement was required, however I do have the endorsement so maybe it was a "given"???? I'll ask my terminal manger next time I speak with her. No placards. I did have a "purge letter" which simple stated that the tank had been emptied and cleaned.
Good job DD. I am surprised they didn't have a stepdeck move it! Out of balance, with that high center of gravity is fun isn't it!!:clap::clap::clap: |
What the hell is that? Did somebody throw out a pop bottle and you picked it up? Good starter load though. Something you can see around. The curve of tanks are nice because you can go through construction zones and not worry about scratching your load.

O.K. Rev, I managed to resize the pics just for YOU.....

If you wanted to cradle it you could have toenailed those other two pieces of dunnage along the tank to your cross pieces. Or do like I do and carry some short pieces of 2x4 so you can chock wheels and block things. Just a suggestion.

I could not have said it better myself. From an outsider looking in, this is golden.....and Rev... I appreciate the knowledge, feedback, and insite in your posts, too.
Although I am not transitioning from the Navy for another five years (that will put me at 24 years), I went ahead and enrolled in school yesterday since I am on shore duty. I cant wait to start. Thanks for all, guys. R/ Frat |
