well the hook has my vote. where i live & run the hook beats most others by 10-15 cents a gallon. plus i get drink & shower on every 50 gal plus e-store coupons. i guess it's just personal preference. i have never paid any other way except cash & the hook has the best price on fuel. the showers are almost always very ,very clean.

Unless things have changes since March of 05...the thing to remember about buying fuel in Oregon is, they do not charge taxes in the purchase...you have to tell them to add the fuel taxes at the register.

i never remind anyone to add anything onto my bill. lol.

Gman, the website will yield you no better return on your typing investment than your previous efforts. I have e-mailed them twice, with no reply either time... as you said, not even a form e-mail "thanks for your comments"... nothing.
That's why I called them. The kid on the phone tried to get me to get one of their debit cards where they yank the money from your account every week. I told him "have a nice day"... :x and I will just fuel elsewhere. Trouble is, the lanes I run the most, it's the J or ... bust. |

Unfortunately, they have you by the ying yang sometimes. I stopped at a brand new Flying J in South Carolina the other day on I-26. The independent across the street beat their prices by about 7 cents. Most of the time it is the other way around. I could feel much better about them if they acted like they cared. There are a few of the stores where the people are pretty decent, but so many seem to care less. I still plan on keeping some of my banking with them because of the convenience of putting money into the account 24/7. The bank has been very responsive for what I need, for the most part. I can't help but wonder how much of their growth has been paid for with our deposits. :? |
When you guys say you pay cash do you mean you use a debit card?
|
It's not that Flying J is no longer taking Visa but Visa is canceling there agreement with Flying J for breach of contract. I'm sure this won't last long.
|
when i say i pay with cash i mean cash. not debit. the greenback.

I usually always pay for all my fuel with cash. If they don't take Visa, then you go somewhere else, or have funds to pay otherwise.
I never understood the purpose of someone (not pointing fingers at anyone in this thread, just stating an observation) crying about something that they can do something about. If a place doesn't offer something they want...instead of bitching about it...DONT GO THERE. If Pilot stops selling 89 octane, instead of people griping about it..there's a million other fuel stops/gas stations that will have it...and you won't have to talk to the degenerate behind the counter when you go in to pay for your fuel either. |
