ideas/help with team running:

Let's just say i just got a Columbia and will be running team.

What things can i do to make this truck comfortable enough for me and my wife to run team?

Some things i've come up with are:
tempur-pedic matress

aftermarket shocks for the sleeper

Since we usually don't carry more than 20,000, i feel i can let about 5-10lbs or air out of the tires and get away with it? I'd be willing to sacrifice i little tire life for some comfort.
It's strictly 100% drop and hook operation.

WHat else?

mobile internet and laptop. And maybe some earplugs.

Before you go letting air out of your tires, check the manufacturer's inflation table. It will tell you how much air you need for a particular weight. The last thing you want to do is run under-inflated. Take the guessing out of it.

The main thing you can do is spend time organizing your stuff. That makes a world of difference when you've got two people.

Aftermarket sleeper shocks are fine, but if you're running junk on the drives and steers they won't do you much good.

Hmmm I would think definitly one of those porta-potties they sell specifically for RV's n trucks, so your wife can pee any where in comfort

the underinflation will have a negative affect on your fuel mileage, no matter how light you haul & also a good chance on having a blowout. a under inflated tire will weken the side wall & then if after a while you incease tire pressure it wont be long before tire failure. too may people spend too much money on stuff they dont need. as far as comfort...if some people some times eliminate all the add on's e.t.c. the money they save could go for many comforable nights at a hotel instead.

I would keep the tire pressure at manufacturer's spec's.

my thoughts exactly 8)

I say get a comfortable mattress & bedding before wasting $$ on shocks and whatnot, and keep in mind the first week will likely be hell regardless of what you do but eventually you'll get used to it and get your sleep ;)

Also, having a fridge is nice, I like having cold water on hand at all times myself.. I had a micro and tv in my rig too, but didn't use them much.

If you haven't already bought the tempur pedic, I'd wait on that. In the winter, they get rock hard in the cold. Sure, they warm up from your body heat eventually, but cold and tempur material are a bad idea. I have some tempur pedic products- pillows and lumbar support. That stuff get's real hard!

I do suggest ear plugs. K-mart sells FANTASTIC ones- Mack's- they're orange. very comfortable once you're used to them. I've seen them in a couple grocery stores, too. But not at Walmart.

So uh, Lewis Friend, you are now running team? What happened to that wish list? Did you finally get all the things that you wished for?
