You always have enough time to get where you are going and in my experience you always had a load ready when you got there. It is a good system they have going over there. I know some teams tend to sit at certian terminals from time to time, but when I ran there we never had any problems and ran 5000+ miles a week (on our dedicated run and OTR). |
this is what i mean about people talking out there ass without the proper knowledge.
To say this to someone who in fact DOES NOT know what they are talking about would be fair, to me its not as i have more friends leased to FEDEX ground than you have in you life, so tune down that attitude jack as u dont know me..Charlotte hub is 1/2 mile from where i live and not only did i look at them, i almost landed me a job in their safety department before i even started driving...i know them better that you and u work there. Company that will blow your safety bonus for driving a 5mph over the speed limit and pay what it pays i find to be very interesting and amusing at the same time. 5000 miles per week is NOT A GOOD THING at the rate that they are paying and if you think that than my hats go ,,off'' to you. I dont have my authority and i work on my own schedule, YES its possible if you only look little bit further than your nose and again, i never said that working there is a bad thing but i also havent said that about J.B. Hunt eaither, whatever floats you boat. If everyone did the exact same thing than i wouldnt be able to run on my own schedule and do my own thing on someone elses paperwork.. |
if anyone is interested I got a deal done on the truck and route, theyll fix a few minor things and I paid a little more than I was wanting to. so we will see how it goes this next year, can't be worse than farming has been the last few years here in colorado.

thanks for the encouragement guys its very exciting and scary at the same time. I've thought about the journal mike3fan and have enjoyed reading yours and steve booths but not sure I would do as good a job as you 2.

I worked for FedEx Ground for 4 years as P&D driver.I was independent contractor with a 24 foot truck.AS of right now I have a part in class action low suit against FedEx Ground in Memphis,TN. so don`t expect from me to tell you much good about that place.As far as I know (from the line haul drivers) seniority can`t be transfered, I know a contractor who couldn`t transfer his route to his grandson,you get in and you start from the bottom.O/O in line haul are bidding on the runs so I guess who ever bids lowest gets the run.I`ve seen people quiting because of lack of work, they couldn`t make it running 2 days a week.I`ve seen terminal parking full of trucks and at the same time terminal manager running adds in the local newspaper for new teams???The happy O/O`s I`ve seen are all older contractors who have been with a FedEx Ground for many years.FedEx Ground will fire you for the smallest mistake, I know people who got fired after someone called in and reported their driving to the management.If you ask me,there is other better places to work at than FedEx Ground.And at the end, there is no telling what is going to happend with FedEx Ground in the future, they are losing law suits all over the country,I sold my route in May,`06 and still didn`t get my money out of my escrow account, now this is going to be a separate law suit against FedEx Ground in Nashville.When you deal with FedEx Ground you will not be a driver or a person, you are nobody, there is enough ego in that company to boss around the whole planet earth.I hope all the drivers will win their law suits and I hope that FedEx Ground pays for all the crap they put their drivers thru.Now,you go and set your truck up overthere and wait to get screwed.

BTW...the very best of luck to you...Hopefully you will find 2 decent drivers, whom will knock out the loads, and make you $$$$...instead of costing you $$$. :) |
