Bought my own wagon! NOW WITH PICS!!

Well, I had to come up to Denver, Colorado to take care of somethings in the area. Had a court appearance I had to make, and some other loose ends to tie up. I came over to the Graebel Van Lines office here in Denver, to pickup a check that they owed me and when on the lot I saw a trailer for sale. It was a '94 Kentucky 53'x102" high-cube HHG trailer, aluminum wheels, stainless on the front and rear, extra lights all over it, stainless belly box covers, excellent rubber, brakes etc. They said that they guy wanted $12k for it, which I thought was a steal...I asked to look inside of it, popped it open and low and behold the purchase price was for the trailer fully equipped. About 40 load bars, 9 stacks of pads, 2 stacks of skins (small and large) car tie downs, 6- 4 wheel dollies, 3 2-wheel dollies and some other stuff I'm forgetting. Picked up the bill of sale from the fellas mom this morning, now I just have to head back down South and get my W900 to come back up here and pick her up. Definitely an exciting day for me...now I just have to get signed on somewhere and get back to work!

Pics aren't the best, b/c I don't have my tractor up here, and the trailer is backed between two others..I did the best I could. It's not perfect...need to replace a couple belly box latches, and put some LED's in the rear and the flag and lettering is faded, but it's almost 100% scratch free, no dents or ripples in the panels so definitely a good starting point!

Random pic of my tractor at my house..

I'll get pics up later....

GRRRRRR...........

And I'm heading to Denver at the end of the month :x

I would have bought that in a heartbeat, considering there's probably $6K worth of equipment there.

:x :x :x :x :x :x :x

Now you gotta lease on to Graebel, since it's painted already. Either that, or sell it to me for $12,001.

How many cubes is it?

Teal 95 KW 03-26-2007 09:27 AM

Rev-It's 4,200 cubes. It's got the small slim-profile belly boxes under it. When you gonna be here, I'll be in town through the weekend. $12,001....lol, atleast I'd make a profit!

What's the difference in compensation for you HHG guys if you pull your own trailer?

100 cubes less than mine.

Beginning of April sometime. Leave the trailer. I'll pick it up when I get there.

65% vs. 52% for Graebel.

no_worries 03-26-2007 10:08 AM

Thanks Rev...that's a pretty substantial difference. Do most guys have their own trailers? I always figured they were mostly company vans but maybe they just require the same paint scheme.

4200 is the last marking on the roof...maybe a foot or so after that. It's essentially the smae trailer you have, with rear belly boxes behind the tandems as well.

My last mark is 4300, with a foot or so after it, and no rear belly box.
