My truck runs fine now, as long as I blow out the air filter every two weeks as hauling logs is in a dusty environment.

I didn't know if I purchased the dual air cleaners and had them installed it would be worth the money to get this done, and was looking at some way to find out what kind, size, etc.. that I would need to get.

I'm not sure if they even made them for my year model Truck 1985 Freightliner Day Cab.

If it was necessary to have dual air cleaners for your truck to achieve peak performance, don't you think the engineers that designed the truck would have specified that they be installed at the factory?

OMG!!! That is a no no.

Dry type air filter cartridges are meant to be left alone until the service indicator shows it is time for replacement, or they should be replaced once a year, whichever comes first.

Blowing out an air filter can damage the paper filter media, and some of the dust created by blowing it out can find it's way to the "clean side" of the filter, where it will be sucked straight into the engine when the filter is re installed.

Blowing out an air filter is false economy.

Money saved by blowing out a dirty filter element: About $50.00.

Cost of overhauling an engine prematurely because you wanted to save the cost of a new air filter element: $7500,00 to $10, 000.00

Sometimes I wonder why people do things like this.

Because I had no idea about it. Makes perfect sense, I am just glad you told me before I did it on my new truck.
