buying a truck from a truck stop posting??

thought just ran through my mind.
now since i have barely any otr experience i have spent very little time in truck stops and never looked t see if they have a for sale area. now i know most sports like motorcycle racing, if you go to the track you might very well find the best deals on a bike from a guy leaving the sport. now will i find a area like this at my local truck stop? a place were people post there trucks for sale??? just a question before i go wandering in truck stops asking stupid questions to clerks LOL "were is you trucks for sale area" :) i can see her telling me this is a TRUCK STOP NOT A TRUCK DEALER.

You can often find a posting board in many truck stops where anyone can put up flyer's to sell a truck, trailer, etc., Some will also allow you to put flyer's or cards for those wanting to change jobs. They are usually in the drivers lounge area. Just go to the fuel desk and ask if they have one.

Also check out the board on this site

Classified ads in newspaper, ebay, truckpaper, repair shops, talk to owner ops that you meet, Taylor & Martin auctions, other auctions, private owners selling. The key is having your funds ready and not buying a lemon on impulse.

I like the analogy of motorycles and ther track. Just like any other selling medium, a great buy (or piece of turd) can be found on truckstop ads, or anywhere else.

I agree with the above- have your funds ready for when a good buy does pop its head up.
