Has anyone use or know of anyone who has used this accountant service,American Truck Business Services ATBS out of Lakewood Co. Thanks

I don't know of anyone who uses them, but they sure advertise a lot. 8)

I prefer dealing with local people when possible. If you have a problem or need to get something to them, they are minutes away.

Boy! you hit a nerve when you mentioned these people. Because they advertised themselves as trucking accountants, we thought they would be able to help us get off to a good start as owner operators.

Last fall we started using them and sent all receipts to them for 4 months. Then during tax time they sent us a schedule C. Since I had been simultaneously trying to keep track of our records myself, I noticed some suspicious "lack" of accuracy in their totals.

I took it to our former accountant (before trucking) and she immediately discovered many discrepancies in their work.

One big boo-boo was their carelessness in mistaking our truck payments to Freightliner as being a "LEASE" payment. (It seems to me that all you need to do is read the bill of sale to identify that its not a lease.) If we hadn't caught that mistake, we would have been up a creek.

In short, their work was sloppy, careless and half hearted. We went back to our former accountant and haven.'t had any regrets.
