overweight in Maine

Hi Does any one know what I have to do to pull 100,000 lb. Unit through the state of Maine ? I am registered in maine for 99,000 and I have my NH overweight permit. What else has to get done before I get told and ticketed on the side of the road ? Any telephone numbers would be useful too.
Thanks Jim

Jimmy you can reg for 100,000 in Me. not 99,000 like here.No permit needed as long as you have 6 axles and stay on the turnpike all the way to Augusta and, from there you need to stay on the state routes not the interstate unless, you are hauling jet fuel {it's exempt for reasons unkown to me}Remember they only give you a 2% over in Me. not 5% like here.I would up your reg. weight for Me. because you are only good for 100,980 now in Me. and NH with the 5% 103,950.
Debbie in the IRP office can provide you with a lot of info on this. She also has the numbers for VT over weight stuff too.
