FEDEX CUSTOM CRITICAL

DO U GUYS KNOW ABOUT THIS COMPANY?

Deus 11-27-2006 12:35 AM

From what I understand the pay per mile is pretty high ($2 something) but the amount of miles you'll run may be quite questionable.

DAF 11-27-2006 12:58 AM

I HAVE STARTED WITH 'EM A WEEK AGO. I'VE MADE $18 HUNDRED SO FARE. I AM NOT HAPPY AT ALL. SO, I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS MORE ABOUT THEM. I ASKED AROUND OTHER DRIVERS BEFORE I STARTED. I HEARD GOOD THINGS. NOW I TALK DRIVERS EVERY DAY
AND I ONLY HEAR BAD THINGS. THESE GUYS WITH FEDEX FOR 4-8 MONTHS.

How many miles??

Dejanh 11-27-2006 04:09 AM

DO NOT GO WITH FEDEX CUSTOM CRITICAL !!!

1.92 or whatever they are saying now its not true, waiting times are long for a load, talked to a husband and wife team recently who spent 3.5 days tryin to get out of Denver, A'lot of dead miles which they dont tell you about. loaded miles pay pretty well but dead miles bring that average down a whole lot + the wait time, tell them to go to hell...oh yeah, i forgot to mention Canada runs as well

I qiut long time ago in talking to the drivers, 99.9% of what I have been told turned around as not true..!!

What's wrong with going to Canada?

BanditsCousin 11-27-2006 03:50 PM

I think you just have to figure out if their system is works. I have sat for over 3 days in Texas and Vegas waiting on reloads. I've also deadheaded 500 miles to loads.

However, this isn't the first time I've heard about FedEx CC being like this :?

I'm with Bandit on this one. You can't jump ship b/c you have to wiat and deadhead a bit. Anything in any sort of specialized freight hauling (heavy haul, HHG etc.) I've sat in slow areas such as Tacoma Washington for almost a week, then had to deadhead alittle bit, but I had just emptied out an $18k linehaul, and was loading a $13k linehaul that was going 1k miles. That's $13.00 a mile, or about $8.00 a mile paid to the truck. That makes it okay and the waiting isn't as big of a deal. You can't expect to drop a load, turn around and be re-loaded and running again within the same day.

BanditsCousin 11-27-2006 04:08 PM

Call Panther2 and ask if this is how they run. They do the expedited thing too, for (advertised) similar pay.

DAF 11-27-2006 04:50 PM

I GOT A LOAD TODAY, IT'S ABOUT 200 MILES FROM NJ TO VA
$THEY WANTED TO GIVE ME $442, SENT 'EM $520. THEY GAVE ME $500

IT' S LIKE ON THE MARKET. I DEAD HEAD 150 FOR $17.60.

WHAT A DEAL :!: :!: :!:

While your waiting for 3 days hop a flight home or go skiing. Make the most of it.

BanditsCousin 11-27-2006 09:12 PM

How many miles did ya run to make the 1800? You never answered that.

Also, how do you figure $17.50 for a 150 mile deadhead. I can tell you're P-O'd at FedEX by now. You need to communicate with them what it will take to make you happy. Never being happy will get you nowhere, as I found out with my dispacther.

I also get deadhead pay to loads, something to look into

He can't. They do expedited loads at Custom Critical and he needs to be ready at the ring of a phone  With general freight, its a planned load, and you have days, sometimes weeks to prepare/bid on it.

Dejanh 11-28-2006 02:02 AM

Nothing is wrong with the Canada runs exept the waiting times at the border crossings, snow, different laws and whatever else, if it suits you go ahead and good luck but if you can make money within out beloved 48 states why go anywhere else..to each his own.

Panther runs Canada too and they are hard on logs, i have couple of friends over there, they seem to dislike them, milage sux..

If you are planning to stay with FEDEX CC, while you are waiting call C.H. Robinson, FEDEX will honor their loads if there are any in your area and pay good ofcourse...a'lot of those FEDEX CC loads are CH Robinson brokered and they work together
