questions?????

i'm confused.....

i know of a couple people living in Minnesota...(not personally)

which i heard that they just look up the web for loads, and "bid" on them...go hook up the loaded trailer and go...possibly drop and hooks...

is that like leasing to a broker or what???

do you have to get your own dot and so on and so on...

i know for sure that's not ur "own authority"...

some one know of anything like this...

sounds interesting if there is such a thing...

sounds to me that you don't have to deal with any dispatch...

i'm currently leased to a company, of course i have my own truck. but i just feel like a glorified company driver...

but going on the web and picking your own load and where it's going sounds interesting...

anybody know of anything like this, details please!!!!

My guess is that they have their own authority and ICC number. There really isn't too many loads that are power only and I would think they have a trailer also. If you have your own truck, trailer and authority you can go onto the load boards and pick the loads you want to haul and where you want to go!

There are a few companies who are power only. The only one that comes to mind is Powersource. I believe they are power only. I spoke to a guy a few months ago who said that he did well with power only. The only problem is that you will need to either find another power only load or deadhead out to where one is located. Sometimes CH Robinson, Landstar and a few other larger brokers may have some power only loads. They may require you to hook to one of their trailers for a round robin to service one of their accounts. You are much better off pulling your own trailer if you want to run your own authority. You will usually have more opportunities. Unless you have your own trailer or lease to a power only carrier, you may just want to lease to a carrier and pull their trailers. You will probably do better.
