Cats Eye or Crossfires Anyone?

Has anyone ever used the Cats Eye or Crossfire Pressure Equalize Valve, and if so how did they work for you.

Maniac 10-17-2006 12:07 PM

I've had the Cats eyes for 5 years, only problem I had was one of the lines rubbed a hole in itself, they sent me a whole NEW set of 8 lines, I replaced the one and still have 7 left 8) 8)

Did they help in the tire wear, and extend the life of your tires?

Maniac 10-17-2006 05:38 PM

I got 280,000 out of my last set of drives, I don't think I extended it by much, maybe 20,000 miles or so,BUT they are easier to check and they wore out perfectly, no getting knobby or uneven wear.

I have Bridgestone drives on it now, so I'm not sure how many miles I will get out of these, I got 180,000 miles on them now, and they still look pretty good.

Hey, where did the rest of the post go? I am new to this forum, but this morning, there were more post and a 2nd page. Did I do something wrong?

The forum "glitched", and all the posts from today, and most of yesterday were lost.

If you want me to re-post the info I put in this thread, I'd be happy to.

I would greatly appreciate Rev, if you could, and also include the picture. This time I will print them up for future reference. Thanks & God Bless!

Cat's Eye
Crossfire

Cat's Eyes are made with rubber tubing, Crossfires are made with steel braided tubing.

Cat's Eyes will tell you if a tire is underinflated, Crossfires will tell you if a tire is underinflated or overinflated.

Crossfires can be found on eBay every once in a while for about $50 a piece. To do an entire tractor, you will have to buy 4 of them (one for each tandem)

I did find this auction on eBay for a pair of Cat's Eyes......really cheap, but they are 110 psi, not 100 psi.

Thanks Rev, I really Appreciate it.

No problem.

You can also get Cat's Eyes with the STEEL BRAIDED HOSE. The company I'm leased onto has them, and every one has the steel braided hoses.

Are you sure they didn't just replace the rubber hoses? I've heard of others doing this.
