Default Companies that let's you book your own loads

Just wondering if the Owner Ops can tell us if there is any other companies other than LandStar or Panther that will allow you to book your own loads at will, under their authority. We have been dealing with Panther, they allowed us to book loads on the getloaded dot com alog with other load boards as long as they have a good credit score. I mean, somebody that will give you full control over where you go and when you take home time etc. Thanks

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm about 99% sure that you won't find a large company like them that will allow you to book/haul your own loads under them authority. Main reason is the insurance and liabilities w/ insurance. I have a friend that does the same with Panther....well....used to. Why not get your own authority and lease to them or a company that doesn't hold you to a parking lot when they can't provide loads. Again, this might be hard as well leasing to someone and then trying to find your own work when theirs is slow.....but that way, your on your own tags/authority.........I'm sure there are some companies that would go for that....just not sure. I have been running a small operation for years now and I've always found my own work, so I can't really be much of any help.

As far as I know Landstar will not let you book your own freight.

They will, but you have to get the customer/broker approved by Landstarve first. They run a credit check and all that stuff, then they take their gigantic cut off the top.

If you are leased to someone and booking your own freight of the load boards, why not just get your own authority and make all of that wholesale money. Or better yet, get your own authority and find some direct customers yourself that you can book at retail. When you book off the load boards through the carrier you are leasing to there are two middle men between your take and the retail rate. I bet in the end you are hauling that for 70 - 50 percent of the retail rate. The only that seperates you from authority is $300 to the FMCSA $50-60 for the BOC3 and a downpayment for insurance (the biggest part).
