I own 07 Columbia and i dont know anything about it being ,,cheaply'' built, i make the same moneys my buddy makes with his 07 Peterbuilt and a 2400$ payment.
Truck is a truck, theyre all good if you take care of them and change oil on time.
I've seen Columbias in high 900's just as i've seen Petes, KW's and such.
Alot has to do with the driver, not the truck and how is it built as am yet to see one that is ,,cheap'' !
