Been driving for a good 10yrs and I'm at the top of the pay scale but I find that I can't get the miles so still making the same or even less then I did when I started.Been seriously considering a lease purchase with Perkins specialized freight, they are a small company out of Indiana. What I want to know does any one know anything about them?,good or bad.

Theyve been around a long time, the dad left it to his son. They pay O/Os cheap and run games with maint in their preferred shops. Son is more interested in racing Indy cars than running company according to O/Os that I have run that left there. Their specialized service is moving cabinets and furniture such as classrooms, universities, and household. This is all that I know.

If you want to own a truck but don't want to go into debt, save your money until you can pay cash. You do not want to get into a "fleece purchase" deal with ANY carrier. Unless you can pay cash, you will need to take on debt, if you want to buy a truck. My suggestion is to stay a company driver until you can pay cash for the truck.

Gave the wrong impression about not wanting to go into debt,I realize there is a certain amount just don't want to put everything on the line.worked to many years to lose it all by making a quick and not thought out move.
Still have to do something so decided to go with a company that hauls specialized freight as a company driver. Good or bad it can't get any worse than where I'm at now. Thanks for the advice.

Safeway United Van Lines does special commodities (specialized freight) of both ltl and truckload. Decent pay from what I hear.

Another company would be Like Upstage or any concert touring hauler.
