I am thinking of becoming a o/o and leasing to schneider....Oh, not heard that joke... thanks....

Come on people, give me your thoughts and ideas.....

Yep, I'm an Englishman living in Kansas....Now that's funny....

As far as I know, Schneider stills pays mileage. Even with the fuel surcharge, you will find it difficult to make money as an owner operator with them. If I were you I would look at one of the percentage carriers, instead. You have the opportunity to make more money. How did an Englishman wind up in Kansas? :? Good luck.

worked for Schneider for the last 3 years or so, on a dedicated account, averaging 2650 on a 5 day week, I could stay there for a little over 5 months of the year, then system bound for me.... They say average is 3000/3100 a week in system at $1.102? Includes latest fuel surcharge.
On the dedicated account I would get $100 unload, plus $30 per stop, average 3 trls/week and 6 stops/week.
Not sure if I'm brave enough to walk away from the comforts? of Schneider!
Working on costs, is giving me a headache.... But will get there!
Kansas?
Married a long time (23 years) in the U.K. She walked, messed around to much, trolling through a dating site! Met a lady..... The rest is history, been here 4 years or so, married and having a ball. 8)

If you are looking at the intermodal part of shneider, you might have a chance. The drayage companies that haul schneider boxes pay more than Schneider btw (ARL etc)
Also call Triple Crown in KC and ask recruiter for earnings projection.
Good o/o company if you live near their terminal.
home every night
or any drayage co for that matter
your net will be the same as the 3000 mile system run
and you can have a beer now and then

Do you really want to drive 3000-3100 miles per week?

to gross $3000?

Thats a week of all work, work, work

schneider likes to keep it's o/o's out in the 48 states, I live on the west part of K.C.
It's not a done deal who I lease to yet, just starting out with ideas, but will do it.
Thx for the thought on Triple Crown, I will call them.
As for 3000 a week, sure, if I can earn $'s doing less, then I would do less... I'll go where the money to live on comes from!

Fuel
100,000mi/6mpg = 16,666.66gal x $3.00 = $49,999.98/100,000mi = $0.50mi.

Truck
$25,000/100,000mi = $0.25mi

Insurance

$10,000yr/100,000mi = $0.10mi

Total $0.85mi

Paid per mi $1.102mi

Leaves for driver $0.25mi

And this is considering your truck has no repairs.

Somebody let me know if I did something wrong.

Well, you overestimated fuel, truck, and insurance, but since you didn't include, all other expenses, your numbers is pretty much on the high end, of the real numbers, with the current fuel prices, for a leased O/O.

I'm estimating my costs, at $0.75, at the moment, but that would be a cold day in hell, when i'll consider running, for $1.10 "book" mile.

I just did, $0.75 cpm, and it is "estimated", means included all costs, even projected.

If you mean detailed report, that i'd rather not do, but my insurance, is about 4 grand(bobtail, physical damage, and collision) for 2005 KW T600.

Fuel, i've got $0.34 cpm, my average MPG is 6.9, and i could buy the cheapest fuel, since company pays fuel tax.

Truck, i've actually bought for cash, so i'm estimating depreciation, at $0.15cpm.

I do pay a lot of tolls, around $0.07cpm...
