If it were me, I would check with construction companies. Demolition companies, road builders, etc., You may also check with some rock crushers. Other than that, I can't think of anything. Do you have a trailer or straight truck? That could make a difference. I am just not that familiar with opportunities in your area. Good luck.

When I first started I got in my car and drove to job sites and talked to other truckers. Truckers love to give advice so I asked alot of questions asked if I could ride around with some of them for a couple of days. You need to build a friendship with guys who will hook you up with work. Swallow your pride be nice even if you already know what they are telling you belive me no one wants to help the know it all whos going to set the world on fire, but they love to help the nice guy who is just trying to find some work. Good luck & hang in there it will get better.

Where in Maryland do you live?

If you live near Montgomery County, I would check out, this company:
Pleasants Construction, Inc.
301-428-0800

The place where I park my truck, this company is devolping a site, and i see dump trucks coming and going all the time....give them a call and see what they say..good luck!!

If you live in MD you are in a perfect area for a dump truck. Actually I see more dumps on the road than I do rigs. Check around White Marsh, or in the Timonium area. Right next to 83 in Timonium there is a quarry where there are trucks coming in and out of there by the hundreds. Another good thing to do is check out about working for the state during the winter. It pays quite well and usually all you have to do is set along the road and sleep.
