Truck mattress

Any good ones to look at? I'm tired of sleeping on old crummy used mattresses. Only had 1 that was good for my week in the truck, the former driver had just been taken out of it to get a new truck. He took the original mattress out without ever sleeping on it and stored it away until he got moved out of the truck.

Money really isn't a big deal when it comes to good sleep

I have a 10" memory foam mattress, I've used in the truck.
Bought a high quality one for $600 back in '05, and I still have it here at home a decade later, and it is still a nice mattress, no sags and actually still like new, and I've used it a lot.

Serta makes a decent coil spring mattress in the $600 price range, plush top or pillow top. I bought a plush top Eastwood, which is the mattress I use now, and I like it.
I don't wake up tired or sore, like a bad mattress will do to you.

I'm planning on buying a Kingsdown from Art Van, maybe in a month or so. Probably going to cost me $1200 for it, and that would be the most I've spent on a twin size mattress.
Comes with boxspring/base, so maybe it's cheaper with just the mattress, like what you would want.
None of these new mattresses need a box spring anymore, and the boxsprings are either free or figure additional $150-200.
I've looked at and tried out lots of mattresses in the stores, and Kingsdown has me the most impressed, and is the best in my opinion, in that price range.

I think the twins hold up better than a wider mattress, so I don't think you need to worry about getting a more expensive hybrid mattress.
A nice coil spring or a memory foam is all you need. The memory foam will be a warmer mattress, but they make "cool" covers designed to minimize heating up.

I found Bostrom selling one that is a Serta Memory Foam pad or gel pad. Can do a 4" or 7" thick mattress for about $400-500. I know I'm slip seating right now and it might seem silly to be moving a mattress in and out weekly.........but getting terrible sleep and aching all over.......not a recipe for safe driving!

Yep... probably after the second time. :) not fun that's for sure.

Those thinner old style spring mattresses aren't a coil spring. They use a mesh with springs. Just a waste of money, as they suck even new. Your best bet might be memory foam. I could see me getting hurt, trying to kick it out the door, or stab it into the coffin. %$#@! Work up a sweat too. Rain or high winds and now it's really getting silly. ;)

Hopefully you get your own truck soon. You must have a pickup truck to haul it home with you? You could tie it to the top of your car with a rope... I've seen that done before.

Broke down and picked up an air mattress, going to give that a try, a good one was MUCH cheaper than a regular mattress and it's MUCH easier in and out of the truck! Had another truck that had a lot lizard mattress in it, could not get much sleep on that used and abused thing.

Great idea! I hope it works out like you hope it will. Just don't wear your spurs to bed. :) ... I gotta watch me hook.

I'm hoping to haggle a mattress I like down in $$$ from a local Art Van store.
It's the Kingsdown in a twin xl and last year the same mattress was $1200, and now they want $1550 .... for a stinking twin size.. (grumble-grumble)(WTF)

I'm waiting for Memorial Day to see if I can get it cheaper. Mattress stores always have Memorial Day sales.
Got a feeling, the price won't be any lower, though. >8^\ ... ($#@!~&%+..twits)

They claim it's a "new series" for the excuse in price increase. (mutter-mutter) (%$#@ &^(*!~=$@2@#%$)))>8^|

Have you thought of going down to MATS? They might have some deals there.........or not! The last truck was the last straw, my back and neck hurt so bad trying to sleep on that mattress along with the lack of sleep. This air one is a $40 higher priced one with a built in pillow. I'll let ya know how it works after I try it in case your interested in giving it a try.

Worked great! Slept real well and woke up with a back or shoulder or neck ache. Only problem is trying to deflate the sucker! Bout never got it small enough to remove. The deflate feature is funky.

I am a lil bit late to reply, Truck have different size of mattresses, well it mostly depends on your truck capacity, any way you can find some truck mattresses(specially made for trucks) on big online stores, like Ikea, eBay, Couponsbiss.com, I hope it will work for you.
