Thinking of becoming a trucker-need liberal rider program
I am a 29 year old female, thinking of becoming a truck driver. I have a 2 year old son I would like to take with me most times but not all the time. I have no experience as a truck driver nor a CDL. Where are the companies that will train and let me take my son without needing to do a lease option?

I know I would not allow it in my truck. |
SURELY.... you're not serious! NO WAY! You apparently know NOTHING about trucking OR the needs of a 2 yr old!

Takeing a 2 year old even for a day would hard, for a week or more it would be real TROUBLE. It dosn't matter how good the kid is, just please take the advice given and don't do it!

This sounds fascinating, but I wouldn't be brave enough to try it. By taking along a toddler, you're basically DOUBLING (or more) your stress level.
You'll almost certainly have to buy/lease your own truck. Please write back if you're able to succeed doing this. |
Don't know of any insurers who would permit it, and I'm thankful that they don't. Truck stops are no place to bring small children; from the dangers of limited visibility, to inexperienced drivers, to experienced drivers who aren't expecting toddlers to dart out in the parking areas (especially while backing) to dangerous criminals, there are just too many things that can go wrong. I seriously doubt that shippers or receivers would permit toddlers on their premises either.
Even with those issues addressed, it would be terribly unfair to the child. I do wish you and your child the very best!! |
