What Is Your Sleeper Setup?

So, what does your sleeper look like?

Malaki86 02-26-2013 09:26 AM

Compared to what? My house? If so, then it's smaller. Much, much smaller.

BobtailCon 02-26-2013 09:10 PM

I'm not talking about comparisons. I'm saying your setup, do you have a laptop in there? Just a bed?

Malaki86 02-26-2013 10:22 PM

Yes, I have a laptop in the sleeper. I download movies & tv shows at home, which I put on a portable drive that I hook to the laptop. I haven't had a tv in a truck in probably 6 or 7 years now. I need to get a microwave, but this truck is tight for space. Plus, I can't find one that doesn't have a digital display on it (I don't need that crap). I do have a coffee maker, though. Can't leave home without it.

mine.. lol its pretty much home. behind my seat is the fridge (truckfridge.com) above that forks knifes important papers, other side closet, above that the tv goes (next week), above that extra blanket, sheets, extra speakers for watching movies, shelf above that is surprisingly empty.. the 2 on the sides next to the seats (on top) both have food and snacks, under the bed is the microwave.

i call it hotel freightliner.

I used to use a handmade laptop mounts that came down in front of the air brakes. 90% for delorme street atlast though id run audiobooks in the background. Last truck i used a cheap 7" pad computer which worked better than the laptop. Id run audiobooks or LISTEN to movies/tv on it (even at home i kepe the tv on it keeps me company. note i DONT watch it). Sometimes use my phone for that and gps. Usually use a roll of movers tape in the cupholder to actually hold cups. Try it.. they wont spill. Ive always kept a small microwave on the right side. Have minicrockpots etc in the cabinets. I used a Heier fridge in the floor when i drove peterbilts. It served as a very stable desk. When in freightliners i have a portable camping cooler i use that is about the size of a backpack. Behind the driver see on the cabinet i keep a 5 gallon water bottle. Everything is held with industrial velcro. Everything.
I want a 27-31" flatscreen with mounts on the sleeper wall. When i outright own the truck im probably taking out the passenger seat and putting in some kind of custom setup. I also want to replace the upper bunk with custom cabinets. I usually use a fouton mattress thing over the crappy truck mattress then 3 or 4 comforters and a buncha pillows. makes getting in the sleeper heavenly :) I keep snacks/soup directly behind the drivers seat within easy reach. Wherever the fridge is ..same thing. I keep oranges/apples/healthy snacks in it. I tried one of those chairpillow things to sit up in the sleeper.. didnt work worth a crap. Id love to hear a solution for that one. i guess the real solution is spend $2000 on a high end captains chair for your truck.

hey firevird

Firebird what is your tv setup going to be? Those little 12volts etc are a joke. I'm thinking about small to medium lcd . If its lightweight i can moount it with velcro. Man i want one of those sattelite dish deals someday.. those things are SWEET.

While out this week, the inevitable happened - the hard drive in my laptop crapped out. Since getting the Tab 2 tablet, I haven't used the laptop for more than just watching videos. So, instead of fixing the laptop (it's over 4 years old), I might try to find a 20-24" tv with a built in media player (it has to have usb input). I know they exist - just have to find one.

tonight just mounted my 22" LED tv. best mount the one that hangs down. worked great.

Malaki86 03-03-2013 02:12 AM
